G.E. CEO’s Former Beacon Hill condo hits market for $20M

The elegant Beacon Hill condo that was formerly home to longtime General Electric Co. CEO Jack Welch has been put on the market for $20 million just a few weeks after GE officially became a Boston-based company.

 Jack and Suzy Welch’s former home is located at 40 Beacon St., which Colliers International’s multifamily investment sales team is marketing for sale. The four-story Greek Revival property was designed by Alexander Parris and includes 13 bedrooms and 13 full bathrooms, was built in 1821 and is listed on the National Historic Register.

The 40 Beacon St. property faces the Boston Common and includes a roof deck, private garden terrace, wine cellar and a first-floor ballroom, according to the listing . The property also comes with two private garage parking spaces and six open-air parking spaces.

Data from the city assessor’s office shows the entire property has a combined assessed value of $16.9 million.
