Music Festivals Near Boston This Summer

Green River Festival

July 8-10

In its thirtieth year, Greenfield’s Green River Music Festival is bigger and better than ever. This festival allows camping which means full access to the huge music lineup and incredible food selection. Enjoy sets by Peter Wolf, Dawes, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Shakey Graves and way more all within a couple hours of Boston.

Levitate Music and Arts Festival

July 9

Hosted by a local surf shop and in its fourth year, Levitate is just south of Boston in Marshfield and allows camping at the nearby Wompatuck State Park. This event will feature performances from Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos, Lettuce and more.

Festival at the Farm

July 30

Festival at the Farm brings live music to the Prowse Farm in Canton, next to Blue Hills. Close to Boston this festival includes acts from Ryan Montbleau Band and Turkuaz as well as a farm-to-table menu from the head chef at B. Good.

Fuzzstival

August 19

Hosted by local promoter Illegally Blind, this event celebrates the best in local garage rck, punk and psych rock. The weekend-long festival will host more than 30 of the area’s upcoming bands. In its fourth year, previous guest have included Drug Rug, Quilt, New Highway Hymmal and more.

Newport Folk Festival

July 22-24

New England’s most scenic and historic celebration of songwriters is back at Fort Adams State Park. The lineup includes Patti Smith, Alabama Shakes, Elvis Costello, Flight of the Conchords and more.
